Spokesman for the Glendale Chapter of Youth for Human Rights International Speaks Out on Peace Day 2006
War and terrorism may dominate the world headlines, but Glendale,
California has its sights set on Peace, and fourteen-year-old Alexis
Mathes is right at the center of that movement. The youth of the world are going to be the ones that push the whole human rights movement forward, and due to the average youth's lack of fixed ideas on how the world should be (which we adults unfortunately have at some points), youth are in a position to recognize basic human rights as missing, and demand change -- or create it themselves!
Thus, the keynote to all of this being education.
